This Weekend

The Edmonton Motorshow is here.

This is our third year participating in the show and we're so glad to be back.

This event always falls at a busy time for our family.

In 2011 it was on the weekend of Fiona's 1st birthday.

Last year it just ended the day before Cedric's due date.

Now again, it falls on the weekend of Fiona's birthday.

I've never claimed that our lives weren't hectic right?

It's absolutely worth it though.

Here's a preview of our booth, the guys did a great job setting this up.

Most attend the Motorshow to see what's new and exciting from the manufacturers.

The Edmonton Motorshow has them all and many do have 2014 products on display.

We like to think though that the real action is at our end of the Expo Centre, in the Auto Emporium.

Here you can find everything you need to maintain and enhance your vehicle's esthetic and performance.

Even if you're not interested in an extreme makeover there's something for you.

The show runs today and tomorrow 10-10 and Sunday 10-6.

Disaster 2013?

Here's hoping that this was the worst event of 2013.

I'm really not so naive to think that the first month could bring the worst but a girl can dream.

Yesterday this happened to the Yaris.

There's not much more to say.

I will tell you this.

Jeff was not at fault.

Silver lining.

The kids were not in the car.

Jeff was not seriously hurt {a mild concussion which pales in comparison to those from his hockey days}.

Silver lining. {The not serious part, not the concussion part.}

We're not sure what the fate of the Yaris will be, though Jeff is fairly certain she's a goner.

In that case I would like to say a few words.

Little Blue Yaris, you were a great car.

Sorry Jeff's friends made fun of you so much.

Sorry I only cleaned you once a year {if that}.

We took advantage of your reliability and you never complained.

Thanks for being such a low-maintenance friend.

And in conclusion, thanks for always squeezing us into those fabulous parking spots.

Just Gonna Squeeze This One In

It has felt very busy around here the last couple of days.

We've been consumed with sickness, Halloween, bookkeeping/payroll and work.

{Yes, I'm back working 3 hours a week.  

Thank you to the feds for hearing our complaints about some of the EI changes.}

I will hopefully have some more time tomorrow to sit down and write more.

For today I just want to hit you with this little gem.

Nope, not a Halloween display.

 That's our shop neighbour, Greg, at Zippy's Auto.

This came off of Jeff's phone when he sync'd it last night.

{This happens once every couple of months.}

Apparently he stopped to see if Greg was ok, thinking he was stuck.

Once he knew he was ok {just hard at work} Jeff snapped a couple of pics.

If you're looking for an honest mechanic, Greg is it.

He's who we trust with our own vehicles.

Now That's a First Car

I would be over the moon if Fiona grows up to be like this amazing girl.

I really just want her to have it all.

I also daydream of her dancing on pointe or taking over the business world but who says she can't be a CEO-mechanic-ballerina.

Right?

I can only imagine the pride her parents feel.

You can see it all over this Dad's face when he talks about her.
Very cool.

Roush

Once in a while we get something really rare through the shop.

This definitely fits in that category.

It's a 2012 Roush Mustang RS3.

There were only 24 with these specs made.

"In Canada?" I asked Jeff.

Nope, in the world.

Now that's rare!
